
Bob Taylor is the Head Coach for Hoops University in the Midland Basketball Academy. Bob stresses fundamental basketball development, and age appropriate conditioning. Bob believes in conditioning while playing basketball.
Bob Taylor is a basketball coach with 30 years experience, 28 years in the NCAA. Bob started coaching boys at Boyne City High School, then coached both men’s and women's teams at Lake Superior State University. He then moved to Oakland Unversity where he still holds the record for winningest woman's coach with a 251-72 career record, and four titles in the Great Lakes
Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Bob then made the jump to Northwood University and is the second-winningest coach in Northwood history. Bob has over 500 career wins, the only coach in Michigan to take both men and women to the NCAA Tournament. He holds the single season wins record at every school he has coached at.
Bob has worked fundamental basketball camps for 25 years, including Wolverine, All-State Girls Camp, Lake Superior State Camp, Oakland University Camp (where he had over 1,500 players each summer), Northwood University Camp, and most notably Meyer in Michigan with the winningest coach in NCAA history, Don Meyer. Bob has trained the Mid American Conference leading scorer, Trevor Huffman, and the GLIAC Conference leading scorer, John Flynn.
